Killarney resident Viva-Lyn Lenehan wrote an open letter to chairman Brian Kruger urging him to make the findings available.

Ms Lenehan said it had been brought to her attention that two cultural heritage management plans had been compiled - one by Moyne Shire and one by the Warrnambool Racing Club.

The Moyne Shire has made its plan available to the public.

"I am asking Racing Victoria to grant the same courtesy to the local community by releasing CHMP 14676," Ms Lenehan wrote.

She said the plan would ensure local recreational riders do not contravene any significant cultural heritage sites, identify that the access tracks can be shared with both the racing community and the local recreational horse riding community, serve to remove any exclusivity to the race horsing industry and remove any potential anti-race horse training sentiment and demonstrate Racing Victoria's ongoing support of community horse riding and equine programs.

Ms Lenehan said she was a strong advocate of continued recreation within the Belfast Coastal Reserve.

"Horse riding is very much part of the way of life down here in the south-west and horse racing is intertwined in this lifestyle," she said.

Ms Lenehan said many local families were associated with horse racing in some way.

"It is therefore important that beach riding within the reserve remains accessible to all of the equine community groups - pony clubs, adult riders, trail riders and trainers," she said.
