Warrnambool detectives are keen to speak to accommodation providers after two people believed to be involved in a $100,000 burglary tried to book a room early Sunday morning.
Detective Senior Constable Elissa Smith, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said it was believed a woman had contacted accommodation providers just after midnight on Saturday night.
She said it was believed a man and woman aged in their 30s were driving a gunmetal grey ute.
"We just need some information from accommodation providers," she said.
A 62-year-old Warrnambool man, who lives alone on Selby Road, returned home last Saturday to find that $100,000 which he kept in two unique Holden tins had been taken along with two World War II Air Force medals that belonged to his uncle.
Anyone with information is urged to call Warrnambool police on 5560 1333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
