Emergency services were called to the accident about 8am just east of the Hopkins Falls Road.
"It appears to be sun glare at this stage," Sergeant Danny Brown said.
"Vehicles are slowing down and one of the cars has collided into the rear of another vehicle," he said.
The 27-year-old Dennington driver was taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.
Traffic management is in place until the damaged car is towed from the scene.
"We just need to remind everybody to drive the conditions, if the sun's in your eyes, slow down," Sergeant Brown said.
