A 36-year-old Warrnambool man is being interviewed by police after going on a damage rampage in Port Fairy early this morning.

Warrnambool police Acting Sergeant Lana Roberts said the damage spree happened between 3.30am 4.30am.
"In Sackville Street there were pot plants smashed and damage caused at Hearn's Port Fairy Accommodation," she said.
"In Dyson Street letter boxes and pot plants were broken and the rear window of a car smashed.
"And then at the Port Fairy hospital three vehicles had windows broken."
Acting Sergeant Roberts said it was believed the man was under the influence of alcohol and may have mental health issues.
"A Warrnambool man aged 36 was arrested and is currently assisting police with our inquiries," she said.
"It's expected he will be charged with causing damage and appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for a bail/remand hearing later today.
"Anyone with information, or who is the victim of damage being caused to their property, is requested to contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," she said.
