The Russells Creek division two captain has seen a picture hanging on the wall of Wesley-CBC's club rooms capturing it.
And now he's desperate for the Creekers to emulate the Beavers' feat.
On March 22, 1998, Wesley-CBC won all three Warrnambool and District Cricket Association senior flags, less than two years after the club's inception.
The Beavers, formed in August 1996 when Wesley merged with CBC-South Warrnambool, became the first club - and remain the only one - in the WDCA's history to triumph in division one, two and three grand finals in a single season.
Wesley-CBC's division one side, coached by Brian Brown, defeated Nestles by 100 runs, handing Factory its fourth consecutive grand final loss.
Peter Hawthorne made a first innings score of 70, while triple AFL premiership player Jonathan Brown, then just 16, took a "crucial" catch to dismiss Nestles danger man Glenn Skilbeck.
Wesley-CBC knocked off Russells Creek by 49 runs to win the division two decider with the Beavers' division three side edging out Nirranda in a nail-biter.
"We always look at it," Wallace said of the picture showcasing Wesley-CBC's three premiership teams in 1998.
"It's a huge achievement.
"Hopefully we can get a flag this weekend, but winning three would just be amazing."
Russells Creek's division one skipper Cam Williams will lead his side out against Mark Murphy's Brierly-Christ Church, with Wallace's team to play Mark McLean's West Warrnambool.
Wallace, who has played more than 200 games for the Creekers, said his side had a healthy rivalry with the Panthers.
"We've had good battles over the years," he said.
"We managed to beat them in a grand final two years ago. But at one point we were even playing off for the wooden spoon against them, so we've both had lows and then highs at the same time."
And in an interesting quirk of history, Wesley-CBC has a chance to preserve its claim to being the only club to win three premierships in a season, as the Beavers play the Creekers in division three.
Russells Creek division three co-captains Nick Sinnott and Ben Van Zelst said Wesley-CBC had a suite of experienced heads and would take some beating.
The pair identified Troy McCormack, skipper Mark Evans and Nick Bolden as their opponent's key wickets.
But at training on Thursday night, Sinnott and Van Zelst were just focused on enjoying the moment.
Sinnott said having three sides make grand finals was a testament to the club's culture and recruitment.
And Van Zelst, who is on Russells Creek's committee, agreed.
"It just means a lot to so many people, given all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes," he said.
"We're turning into a destination club - people want to be here and there's a real sense of camaraderie and mateship."
