The huge blade of a wind turbine being transported on a wide load through Hamilton has been involved in a collision with a power pole.

Hamilton police Sergeant Rex Habel said the wide load was turning into Mount Baimbridge Road from the Portland road when the blade collected the power pole at 6.20am today.
There were single blades on two wide-truck loads accompanied by by eight pilot vehicles.
Sergeant Habel said there was damage to the power pole but no disruption to local electricity supply.
"The blade has got a bit of paint off it. It's understood that investigations will be carried out to determine if the blade is structurally sound."
Sergeant Habel said there was a short delay but the road was now open.
"Fortunately no one was hurt. The wind turbine company and Powercor will have to sort anything else out," he said.
On Tuesday morning, a pilot vehicle involved in guiding a wide vehicle load moving wind farm equipment was involved in a minor collision with a truck near Condah.
Senior Constable Brendan Medley, of the Portland police highway patrol unit, said the pilot vehicle was at the rear of the wide load when the driver pulled out to look down the road at 7.15am.
The pilot vehicle collided with a prime mover and semi-trailer going in the opposite direction.
"The pilot vehicle clipped the truck going in the other way," he said.
"It was nothing major. There was some damage to the pilot vehicle and tyre scuffing and side mirror damage to the truck," he said.
