TOP jockey Luke Currie needs to ride for luck from an awkward barrier draw for Zebulon to win the $141,000 March Stakes at Flemington on Saturday, according to Aaron Purcell.

Zebulon is having his third run for Purcell in the listed 1400-metre race after two pleasing runs for the Warrnambool Grand Annual Steeplechase-winning trainer.
“I’m just a bit worried about drawing barrier two with Zebulon,” Purcell said.
“I think it’s a bit of an awkward gate. It’ll take a good ride by Luke to get his way out of there.
"Zebulon is a get-back horse in his races. I think we’re going to need a bit of luck. I’ve been very happy with Zebulon’s two runs for us. He’s a very good horse and is in peak condition.”
Zebulon is a $5.50 chance in the early betting markets while his consistent stablemate Von Mystic who lines up in the $150,000 Grand Mile Final is rated a $16 hope.
“It’s very difficult to access the form of Von Mystic’s race,” Purcell said.
"Von Mystic has won two of his last three and has a few minor placings to his credit. He’s in good form. He’s a good each chance at the nice odds on his lead up form to this race.”
Fellow Warrnambool trainer Jarrod McLean accepted with Trap For Fools in the $5 million All Star Mile.
Trap For Fools is the second emergency for the rich inaugural race but with Foundry scratches on Friday morning, the group one winner may force his way into the field. McLean, also accepted with Sacred Theme.
Ciaron Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace have runners at Flemington and Rosehill, including group one winning mare Aloisia in the $600,000 Coolmore Classic at Rosehill.
