That day the Lions beat the previously unbeaten and hot-favourite Merrivale in a famous victory.
Davis hasn't played for the Walter Oval-based side since 2012 but her best friend Nicki Farmer has helped draw her back to the Lions.
The goal shooter said she had high hopes for 2019.
"We're looking to get the Rovers' netball back into finals," she said.
"The last time I was at the club we were very successful and our aim is to get back to that level and to have fun and progress our juniors."
Premierships seem to follow Davis.
After leaving South Rovers due to work, Davis won three A grade flags in a row with Navarre in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League from 2014-16.
"That was amazing to be a part of," she said.
The four-time premiership star returned to the south-west for work in late 2017 and played with Hamilton Kangaroos in the Hampden league last year.
The paramedic, who is based in Hamilton, played seven matches with Hamilton Kangaroos but then got injured and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
This year Davis would like to develop her leadership skills.
"I'd like to be more of an on-court leader this year," she said.
"I'm one of the oldest and most experienced girls in the side now so I'd like to be able to impart my wisdom onto the younger girls and shoot lots of goals."
Davis is also the top-grade assistant coach this season and as well as the A reserve mentor.
