It's already been raining in Warrnambool, but the showers will become less likely in the early afternoon.
It was 12.5 degrees just after 7am, felt like 6.2 and the city had received three millimetres of rain in the 22 hours since 9am Monday.
Winds today will be westerly 25 to 35 km/h tending south-westerly 25 to 40 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the late evening.
Warrnambool is expecting a top temperature of 18 degrees, Hamilton 18, Colac 17, Ararat 18, Casterton 19, Mortlake 18, Heywood 19, Portland 18, Port Fairy 19, Camperdown 15 and Terang 16.
A cold front to the west will cross Victoria this morning as a high pressure system develops over the Bight and extends a ridge across the state tonight.
The high will move rapidly eastwards across the state on Wednesday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday night.
The high will extend a ridge across Victoria on Thursday then weaken as another high moving over waters south of the Bight crosses Tasmania on Friday.
The forecast for Warrnambool on Wednesday is a top of 19 degrees, 21 on Thursday, 22 on Friday and then a fine weekend with 25 on Saturday and 26 on Sunday.
