The teenager lost to Nicole Mullen in a three-set thriller, going down 7-6 , 2-6, 7-6.
In the men's singles, two-time Labour Day champ Andrew Whittington progressed to the third round with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Samuel Thompson.
He we will play James Brushfield next, who is fifth seed.
Meanwhile, James Dougherty had a comfortable win against Andrew Carter in the second round, winning 6-2, 6-0.
About 770 players are taking part in the popular tournament at Lake Pertobe.
Tournament director Don Higgins said there was plenty of high quality tennis still to come.
"Our finals are on Monday, so if anybody wants to see great tennis, there's really good tennis on Monday in virtually every grade," he said.
