His replacement, Aaron Harrison, flew into Australia this week and quickly hit the training courts with his new teammates, eager to do likewise in his first Big V season.
Harrison, captured above by photographer Morgan Hancock, has played basketball professionally in four countries - Australia will be his fifth - and he's eager to immerse himself in the Warrnambool community during his stay.
"I looked this team up and I thought 'these guys are pretty serious about their basketball' and the community looks like my type of community'," he said.
"It's small and there's a lot of support and that's a thing I look for."
That attitude is sure to endear him to the south-west's basketball faithful.
