Folkie: Casey Chambers will feature as this year's Artist of the Year at the 43rd annual Port Fairy Folk Festival on the weekend. She will join the three-day festival that includes more than 200 shows featuring 100 acts at 20 venues across the long weekend. In honour of the 50th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Music Festival, one of the pioneering females in folk music, Melanie, will perform exclusively at this year's event. Other great acts include Renee Geyer, blues and roots musician Ash Grunwald, and indie folk duo Hollow Coves. Weekend activities will also include workshops, writers programs, markets, buskers, street performers and the Children's Folk Circus. The event that draws more than 10,000 through the gates, will kick off with a half-hour opening ceremony at 6pm on Friday.

Volleyball: The 45th Annual Seaside Volleyball Tournament is on this weekend. The competition has attracted 67 teams, including one from Tasmania and 16 from South Australia, playing across four venues - the Arc's main court, the netball stadium and Brauer and Emmanuel colleges, with winners to be decided on Monday.
Art: The pieces of Mortlake artist James Cody Davis are on display at Twiggy's Place in Terang. Members of the public are invited to view the pieces from 6.30pm on Friday night.
Women: To celebrate International Women’s Day Warrnambool's Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum is hosting a free talk and morning tea. The village will showcase women’s history from 10am to 3pm, concluding with light refreshments.

SATURDAY
Cobden: The 43rd Cobden Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull will be held at the Racecourse Park Rally Ground on Grayland Street from 10am to 10pm Saturday and 10am to 5pm Sunday.
Lifesaving: The Victorian Lifesaving Open Titles will be held at the Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club from 8am on Saturday to 5pm on Sunday. Clubs from all over the state will descend on Lady Bay.
Tennis: The annual Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club Labour Day tournament will be held at the Club's Pertobe Road address this weekend. More than 750 players will take part in the tournament which runs from Saturday morning to Monday afternoon.
Dance: Victorian country artist Kim Ritchie will perform at the Cobden Civic Hall from 7.30pm. The event includes room to dance, a raffle and tea and coffee.
SUNDAY
Market: The Fresh Market is on at Lake Pertobe on Sunday from 8.30am to 1pm.
Gigs: Jessica Skye, Warrnambool Bowls Club, 4-7pm. Suzanne Petersen, Hotel Warrnambool, 3pm.
