A Cobden P-plater has lost his licence for 15 months after he was clocked nearly 50km/h over the speed limit in a bid to impress his brother.

Jerome Bell, 19, of Tarrant Street, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to speeding dangerously.
He told the court he was showing off to his brother and was "just being stupid".
Magistrate Franz Holzer said Bell could have had at least two fatalities on the road that day.
"That is a concerning and dangerously high speed," he said.
Bell was convicted and fined $1500. His driver's licence was suspended for 15 months and he was ordered to do a safe driving course.
On November 2 last year, Bell was clocked at 148km/h on the Camperdown-Cobden Road, between County-Boundary and Pekins Lane, about 7pm. That stretch of road is a signed 100km/h zone.
His vehicle was impounded.
