It comes after lobby group Princes Highway West Alliance, made up of five local governments areas, and Warrnamboool City councillor Mike Neoh have made continuous calls for upgrades to the ailing road.
Mr McCormack, who is also the government's infrastructure minister, will visit in mid-March.
Road funding is my number one priority when it comes to delivering for the electorate of Wannon. ... there is still a lot more that needs to be done. That's why I've invited the deputy Prime Minister to come.
- Wannon MP Dan Tehan
Mr Tehan said road funding was his number one priority when it came to delivering for the electorate.
"We have been able in the last six years to get extra funding, both through Roads to Recovery and direct investment into the Princes, Henty and Western highways, but there is still a lot more that needs to be done," he said.
"That's why I've invited the Deputy Prime Minister and minister for infrastructure to come to Wannon.
"He has accepted that invite and will be coming down on March 18 to meet with transport users from the transport sector and also to meet with local governments to discuss local priorities for road funding.
"That is something I have been advocating for and will continue to advocate for."
Mr Tehan said getting the Princes Highway west of Colac to the South Australian border on the National Land Transport Network list was also high on his list of priorities.
"It is an important initiative," he said.
"If not more important is to secure more funding and ensure that that funding leads to proper maintenance and proper repair work is being undertaken.
"One of the biggest issues that I've seen as I drive around the electorate is that a lot of the maintenance and repair work isn't being done in a way that lasts.
"We need the job being done properly.
"I look forward to welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister to Wannon so he can see how important it is to the people here."
