Warrnambool is expecting a top temperature of 20 degrees.
Light winds will become south-westerly 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day then tending southerly in the late afternoon.
A high pressure system over waters south of the Bight will slowly move south-eastwards, to be centred south-west of Tasmania by Saturday morning.
The high will then move slowly eastwards over the weekend, remaining over the Tasman Sea on Monday and Tuesday as a second high moves across the Southern Ocean towards Tasmania.
Top temperatures around the region today include include Colac 22, Ararat 23, Casterton 26, Mortlake 22, Heywood 21, Portland 20, Port Fairy 19, Camperdown 19 and Terang 20.
The seven-day outlook for Warrnambool suggests top temperatures will remain warm.
Friday we are expecting 21, Saturday 22, Sunday 28, Monday 29, Tuesday 23, Wednesday 23 and next Thursday 27.
