The minister agreed to come to the south-west after an invitation from Member for Wannon and federal Education Minister Dan Tehan was ignored by the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.
Mr Tehan wrote an open letter to the premier outlining that the residents of the south-west and victims of last March's St Patrick's Day bushfires were living in fear due to the degraded electrical infrastructure.
He said those concerns were raised during a campaign driven by The Sisters bushfire victims Jack Kenna and Jill Porter.
All four St Patrick's Day bushfires in the south-west in March last year were caused by electrical assets.
The Sisters/Garvoc fire was sparked after a rotten power pole snapped in high winds.
Mr Tehan said he was delighted his federal colleague was able to visit.
"I am pleased to bring Angus Taylor MP, Minister for Energy, to Terang," he said.
"If you would like to chat with Angus and myself about energy infrastructure then catch up with us on Friday."
The forum will be held at the Terang Civic Hall at 105 High Street between 10.15am and 11.15am.
