The reigning premiers are into their third straight Western District Bowls Division midweek grand final after defeating Warrnambool Gold by six shots at Dennington on Tuesday.
City Gold's Karina Ellery said she was rapt to get the win after a close-fought game.
"It feels wonderful - we're very excited," she said.
"We'll enjoy the week's spell and watch the preliminary final with interest before coming out and doing our best in the grand final."
And while Ellery said the team would no doubt face extra pressure at the decider on March 5, she loved the sport, win, lose, or draw.
"I really enjoy the companionship and all the new friends you meet," she said.
"It's just a wonderful game."
Warrnambool Gold will suit up again next week against Port Fairy Gold, which defeated Terang Gold by 18 shots in the other semi-final.
