A Warrnambool man aged in his mid 20 was held by police overnight Wednesday after being arrested for a theft at Toy World in the Ozone car park.
He was arrested by Warrnambool uniform police officers and the 25-year-old will appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for a remand/bail hearing.
In Portland a 37-year-old man was arrested and held in custody overnight after coming to police attention because of a family violence incident.
A police check revealed the man was wanted on four outstanding warrants of apprehension dating back to 2011.
The warrants had been issued in relation to failing to appear in court and a burglary.
"He had stayed out of trouble for a long time but a family violence incident led to his arrest. He will appear in court today," a police spokeswoman said.
