A VicRoads spokesman said work would take place on the west-bound lanes of Dunlop Street (Hamilton Highway) between the Jamieson Avenue roundabout and Burke Street from 8am until 3pm, weather permitting.
Dunlop Street will remain open during works, with traffic controllers in place to support traffic flow.
Drivers can expect minor delays.
All drivers should obey the 40km/h speed limit throughout the work site for the safety of workers and all road users.
The spokesman said for all the latest traffic information around the state visit traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or download the VicTraffic app via your app store.
“If you see any hazards on our roads, please report them to the VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70, open 24/7. In an emergency, call Triple Zero,” he said.
