Winds will be south-westerly 30 to 35 km/h tending westerly 20 to 30 km/h in the evening.
A ridge of high pressure extends across northern Victoria on Wednesday, remaining over inland Victoria during Thursday as a cold front crosses Tasmania.
During Friday a high pressure centre will drift from south of Adelaide towards western Tasmania, and into the Tasman Sea on Saturday.
Across the district Wednesday will be mild.
Hamilton is expecting a top of 18, Colac, 18, Ararat 18, Casterton 20, Mortlake 19, Heywood 19, Portland 19 and Port Fairy 18.
The expected top temperature on Thursday in Warrnambool will be 19, 21 on Friday, 22 on Saturday and 26 on Sunday.
