Warrnambool police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a break-in at a fish and chip shop overnight Friday.

Detective Senior Constable Craig Wastell, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the Morriss Road Fish Shop was burgled between 11pm on Friday night and 10am the following morning.
"Entry was forced into the building through the back door, causing damage. An amount of cash was taken and forensic officers examined the crime scene."
Detective Senior Constable Craig Wastell requested that anyone with information contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
