The Capricorn Records countdown is back for its fourth year on Saturday with a some new additions. 

Of course Capricorn Records owner of 35 years, Michael Fitzgerald, will be spinning some tracks. 

He’ll be finishing the day with his top 10 Australian songs of all time. 

But he said he won’t be the only one picking tunes with female group, the Honeyjoys, also on the line-up. 

“They’re putting together their top ten Australian female songs of all time,” he said.

The music event begins at 3pm and goes until late with free entry.

The Hotel Warrnambool’s Carly Chambers said it was an honour to host the event given that Capricorn Records was such an institution in Warrnambool. 

“It’s a fantastic day,” she said.

“It always brings the community together.”

The countdown is also an important fundraiser.

Warrnambool Central Rotary Club will have fundraising raffles throughout the day and the Hotel Warrnambool will prepare an Aussie barbecue. 

All money raised will be donated to Warrnambool and District Community Hospice which provides people at the end of their lives with the option of compassionate care in their own home setting.

Rotary’s Bob McMillan said he looked forward to the Australia Day event.

“We’ve previously donated to Hospice and we thought this was another opportunity to raise some funds for the service,” he said.
