In her debut season as Merrivale coach, Pulling has managed a recruiting coup, snaring the signature of Chantelle Moloney.
A former Merrivale player, Moloney has not worn the Tigers’ kit since 2016, when she was a member of a team that lost the grand final to Dennington.
In 2017, Moloney played for Hampden league club Warrnambool, helping the Blues to a finals appearance.
Netball took a back seat for Moloney in 2018 as she travelled overseas for the year.
Pulling said the return of Moloney was a huge boost for the club.
“Chantelle is keen to get back having fun playing netball,” Pulling said.
“We will play her in the midcourt but we know she is a great defender so we can use her back there if we need.
“She has been out of the game for a year so it might take her a bit of time to get back in the swing of things.
“She is going back overseas in the middle of the year to do a marathon so we will lose her for a few weeks but she will be back if we play finals.”
Moloney is the third established recruit Pulling has dragged to the club.
The other arrivals are Koroit goal shooter Millie Mahony and Allansford’s Tanaya Harradine.
Pulling will also oversee the return of two Tigers.
Her sister Cloe and Nicole Ferguson are both returning to Merrivale’s playing ranks after having babies and missing last season.
