The refurbishment includes cement stabilising and widening, allowing for two lanes of traffic between Gateway Road and Horne Road.
Warrnambool City Council city infrastructure director Scott Cavanagh said the road was due for an upgrade.

“The volume of traffic using the road has greatly increased since the completion of the Horne Road and Aberline Road redevelopments,” he said.
“Over the coming years, Boiling Down Road will become an even more important connection for people looking to access the Horne Road business park and thousands of new residential properties in the city’s north-east.
“We are excited to start work on this important east-west link to help better manage the growth of our city.”
Boiling Down Road will be closed for the duration of the works, with the exception of local traffic, from Tuesday, January 29.
