The Factory have climbed to fourth on the ladder after claiming full points against East Warrnambool-YCW in a two-day game that concluded on Saturday.
Nestles lost four of its first five games and was floundering in the bottom reaches of the ladder.
But an unblemished run since Christmas, including the outright and two Twenty20 victories, has created a buzz around the Factory.
The key to Nestles’ win over the Broncos was an even spread of contributions with bat and ball.
Four of the Factory’s top-order batsmen made over 35, while seven bowlers took wickets.
Nestles coach Geoff Williams said these numbers proved what he had long believed about his team.
“We aim not to rely on one player, we believe we bat all the way down and we have eight bowlers who can do a job when they need,” Williams said.
“Jack Knight made his first division one 50 on the weekend and batted really well.
“I have been working with him so he knows his role, he has a nice technique and his confidence is up.
“Jack and Jacob Hetherington put on over 100 when we were 3-39 in the first innings.
“Hetherington played the senior role really well, he is an impressive young leader.”
Williams said it had been a strange season for his team, with the evenness of the competition and the variations in formats proving a challenge.
“I always thought two-day cricket would suit us better and we have done well in our two games in that format so far,” he said.
“We were in a good position before the rain came against Brierly-Christ Church before Christmas and obviously we had a good result on the weekend.”
The Factory faces a big task in its next two-day encounter after the Australia Day break, taking on the in-form Woodford.
