And Warrnambool’s Andrew Meade, 26, couldn’t agree more.
He nailed a hole-in-one at the Warrnambool East Rotary challenge on Saturday, taking his 2019 total to four, including three in the space of just over a week.
But the Watson Contractors machinery operator, who has now won $800 in cash prizes, said there’s no magic to his success.
“Persistence is really the key,” he said.
“I was ecstatic after the first one – I put a fair bit of the prize money back through Rotary, but also went out for a nice dinner to celebrate.
“I practice most nights at the new driving range...but I'll probably back off a bit going into the final round this weekend.”
Warrnambool East Rotary’s hole-in-one shootout day will run from 11.30am to 4pm on Saturday. The first prize is a Kia Picanto.
