The Bulls secured their semi-final spot in the inter-association tournament next weekend with a five-wicket victory over Tyrendarra on Sunday.
Fellow south-west cricket side’s Pomborneit and Panmure were knocked out of the tournament by Stoneyford and Hamilton.
The Murphy brothers led the way for the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association side.
Mark finished with 5-15 to restrict Tyrendarra to 9-108 before he and brother Nathan added 32 runs each in the run chase.
The all-rounder quickly deflected the spotlight onto his team’s balance.
“We don’t rely on any one bowler, like Jason Greer has been good at the top of the order with his spin and he took five wickets in the (WDCA) grand final,” he said.
“Everyone else just plays their part and there is always going to be one bowler that takes wickets in twenty20 and the others just try and bowl tightly and put the pressure on the other end.
“Today that was fortunately myself and it could have been anyone today and the fielders back us up and really took their chances.”
Murphy said the association-wide bye next Saturday gave his side the chance to focus on chasing glory.
“We will come up with a couple of ideas of things we didn’t do so well today that we could work on and talk about what we have been doing well and keep doing it,” he said.
“We just need to focus on what we are doing and react on the situation game day and see where guys strengths and weaknesses are and figure it out as quick as possible.”
The Bulls will take on Stoneyford in semi-final one next Sunday, while Hamilton and Great Western Swifts will face off in the second semi.
