Mahoney injured his right hamstring just five overs before recording his second ton of the Grassmere Cricket Association two-day season in Woolsthorpe’s 19-run victory over the Roosters on Saturday.
“I didn’t think I was going to get there because if you can’t run you just have to start swinging,” he said.
“If you start swinging you can go out but fortunately for me it didn’t happen and I got through it.”
The 49-year-old departed for 116 off 79 balls as the Warriors successfully chased down Wangoom’s score of 269.
A week earlier Lachlan Morrison helped set up the Roosters’ total with a century (105 off 158 balls) before the long-serving Warrior replied with his own.
Mahoney, who hit six fours and nine sixes in his innings, said he was pleased to make the century for himself and his team.
“It was really good as you get to admire those who make one and you are pretty happy about it as they aren’t things you expect," he said.
“But considering we were chasing 260 and we needed a couple of scores that were 40-50 plus. So for someone in the team to get a hundred it ticks that box.”
The Warriors finished their batting innings at stumps on 9-288, with Captain-coach Steve Blacker not out on 54.
