Colac police Sergeant Tim Kerrison said the man was arrested, interviewed and charged with burglary, theft and handling the proceeds of crime.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Geelong Magistrates Court today for a bail/remand hearing.
Police allege the man broke into a Murray Street home early Wednesday, stealing property valued at $2500.
He was also caught in possession of property stolen from the Colac Central Bowling Club, including a self-propelled Honda lawn mower valued at about $1000.
Sergeant Kerrison said there was still property missing from the burglaries.
"Investigations led to the man's arrest by Colac police uniform members. It was outstanding work," he said.
"Follow-up inquiries will be conducted by Colac police crime investigation unit detectives," he said.
Anyone with information about the crimes or the missing property is requested to contact the Colac police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
