To be held at Lake Gillear at Allansford, the event will be run by the Shipwreck Coast Motocross Club.
The club has landed a coup with one of the world’s best motorcross riders, Bailey Malkiewicz, to race.
Club secretary-treasurer Tracy Chilton said she was thrilled to have Malkiewicz committed to the event.
“It is just so exciting to have the world’s best rider at Lake Gillear,” Chilton said.
“People can come along and see as good as motocross riders as they would see anywhere in the world.
“As well as Bailey, we have other riders who are really high up there in world ranks.”
The two-day event will feature 295 competitors from all over Victoria and interstate.
Chilton said riders were coming from Tasmania, South Australia and New South Wales.
She said event the was one of three meetings held each year by the club. The next will be the senior Victorian titles in May, followed by the Western Region titles in June.
Chilton said the club’s 58 members were looking forward to either competing on the weekend or helping with the event’s smooth running.
She said sign-in was at 7am on Saturday with racing from 8.30am.
“We have practice and then two rounds of racing on Saturday,” she said.
“On the Sunday, we then have two more rounds of racing with the person with the most points in each grade after the four rounds announced the winner. We have trophies for the juniors and there is prizemoney for the seniors.”
