People have gone about their business without noticing the bike which is only hanging by its seat between the street lights at the Bank and Sackville streets intersection in Port Fairy.
A high profile Port Fairy person, who declined to be named, said a few locals were waiting for the bike to get noticed. “It’s been amazing not many people have commented about the bike,” the source said.
“I suppose everyone will be noticing it now The Standard is acknowledging it. There’s a couple of theories going around how the bike was put there. It was just a joke. Let’s just say it was a delicate operation in the early hours of the morning. I’m sure plenty of people will have a good laugh when they see it there.”
Just who owns the bike is another source of intrigue too. The owner has not been rushing to reclaim his or her wheels.
