The federal government’s Regional Arts Victoria supports sustainable cultural development in regional and remote Australia and local artists are now eligible to apply its quick response and community grants programs.
Regional Arts Victoria CEO Joe Toohey said the quick response grant program was set up to be “responsive to exceptional cultural opportunities” that may be on offer to artists or community groups.
These grants are available throughout the year and applications can be submitted any time between three to 12 weeks prior to the activity commencing.
Incorporated, not-for-profit organisations can apply for up to $3,000 for small-scale cultural development and arts initiatives. Individuals can apply for up to $1,500 for for professional or skills development of small scale project opportunities.
The community grant program, open until March 18, includes cultural projects and skills development, worth up to $15,000, and “Toe in the Water”, worth up to $6,000 for first time applicants.
Those eligible can apply online for both programs through SmartyGrants.
“We are inspired by arts across the state, and through partnerships, programming and projects, we develop creative practice all over Victoria,” Mr Toohey said.
