The 35-year-old finished tied for third, five shots back from winner American Matt Kuchar, after shooting rounds of 67, 64, 68 and 64 to end his time at the Sony Open on 17-under-par at Waiʻalae Country Club in Honolulu.
Leishman split third spot with Canada’s Corey Conners and American’s Hudson Swafford and Chez Reavie.
The result comes a week after the Warrnambool export finished in equal fourth at the Tournament of Champions in Maui.
The Australian fought back in the final round – sinking six birdies on the fourth, sixth, ninth, 11th, 15th and 18th holes – to get within two shots of Kuchar heading out of the front nine.
The American then kicked away on the back nine, sinking five birdies on his way to his first victory of 2019.
Leishman remains in third spot on the FedEx Cup ratings. Kuchar leaps past the Australian into second and previous number two Gary Woodland drops to number four on the rankings.
