Roger Vistarini is part of the Victorian N Scale Collective which is one group showcasing trains at the Warrnambool Model Railway Exhibition this weekend.
He said he enjoyed coming to Warrnambool for the show because of the atmosphere.
“The city exhibitions tend to be a bit tense but the country ones are more relaxed,” he said.
The Warrnambool exhibition opened today and is also open from 10am to 4pm tomorrow at St Joseph’s Primary School.
Warrnambool Model Railway Club president Lindsay Bamford said he was thrilled with the number of people coming to see the exhibition.
“We’ve had several hundred people through the door in the first couple of hours,” he said.
Among the highlights is an 8A Victorian Puffing Billy train by Warrnambool’s Neil Sanders.
It’s a project he’s been working on for about 20 years and the engine has had a successful run at the Cobden Miniature Railway.
