Coach Ray Drew said the Murphys would be absent due to work commitments.
“It is unfortunate Nathan and Mark are unavailable but we are really pleased with the squad we have,” Drew said.
“We can still add to it as we go along.”
Woodford all-rounder Nick Butters has been named captain of the squad. Allansford opener Chris Bant and Russells Creek bowler James Elford will be joint vice-captains.
The trio are part of a squad of 22 that will be trimmed to 14 when the team begins its campaign in Melbourne in February.
The squad is: Chris Bant, Ben Boyd, Mitch Clark (Allansford), Chris Cheslin (Dennington), Jeremy Burgess, Sam Clarkson, Josh Stapleton (Merrivale), Jason Perera, Aaron Williams (Port Fairy), James Elford, Joe Kenna, Ruskan Weerasinghe, Cameron Williams (Russells Creek), Ben Evans (Wesley-CBC) Jack Sutherland, Alistair Templeton, Ben Threlfall, Sam Younghusband (West Warrnambool), Nick Butters, Tyler Fowler, Alex Jennings, Hank Schlaghecke (Woodford).
