Macarthur police Leading Senior Constable David Rook said a large green bin used to store grain was stolen from the side of the Hawkesdale-Macarthur Road, near the Macarthur wind farm, between January 7 and 9.
“The plastic bin measured about 1.5 metres by two metres,” he said.
“It was inside a metal frame and would have required either a tractor or quite a few people to lift it.
“A lot of people use that road, so we are hoping that somebody passing by or in that area may have seen something.”
Leading Senior Constable Rook said the container was valued at about $1500.
“A second similar container was left behind. It was full of grain so we believe it would have been too heavy to carry,” he said.
Anyone with information should contact Macarthur police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
