Warrnambool Blue and Warrnambool Gold each finished their three pool games undefeated, booking their spots in Thursday’s semi-finals.
The Greg Hewson-led Warrnambool Blue will face Mount Gambier with Matt Wilkinson’s Warrnambool Gold side to meet Colac.
A captain’s performance from Allansford’s Ethan Boyd and a half-century to Wesley-CBC’s Xavier Ellul (55) lifted Warrnambool Blue to a 17-run win over Portland on Wednesday.
Hewson said Blue switched its batting line up and it paid off, making 8-135.
“Because we won the first two days we were able to throw the order around,” he said.
“Xavier hadn’t had a (proper) run before and he batted really positively which was great and Curran O’Donnell came in at number four and made 32. They had a good partnership together.”
Boyd claimed 5-24 off 10 overs to restrict Portland to 118.
“He’s bowled two spells very well,” Hewson said.
Koroit’s Fletcher Cozens’ rich vein of form continued, with the Vic Country representative top-scoring with 57 in Warrnambool Gold’s 13-run win over Mount Gambier.
His knock complemented his 99 on day one and 104 on day two.
“He batted really well again and held the innings together,” Wilkinson said.
“Three hits and all over 50 is pretty good going.”
Warrnambool Gold was in trouble early with Mount Gambier cruising at 1-79 in reply.
But Merrivale’s Tom Knight (4-21) and Brierly-Christ Church’s Daniel Hawkins (3-19) helped it escape.
