A Warrnambool man is in custody after he attempted to assault his neighbour with a golf club and nine cannabis plants were found in his home.

Warrnambool police Acting Sergeant Lana Roberts said police were called to units at Warrnambool’s Bates Road about 7pm on Tuesday.
“There was a dispute between the offender and the victim – his neighbour,” she said.
“The offender entered the neighbour’s house armed with a golf club and attempted to assault the victim, who defending himself with a chair.
“Noone was injured.”
Police attended the scene and located nine cannabis plants in the offender’s home.
Acting Sergeant Roberts said the plants were seized and the 44-year-old male was arrested.
He is charged with aggravated burglary, possessing a controlled weapon without lawful excuse, unlawful assault and cultivating cannabis.
He is expected to appear in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a bail/remand hearing.
