Thousands of homes are without power following a fault on the Portland-Casterton Road on Tuesday.
A Powercor spokeswoman said crews were investigating a fault affecting 1653 customers in the Merino area.
Areas affected include Branxholme (260 customers), Strathdownie (121), Casterton (141), Hamilton (81), Wallacedale (61) and Condah (56).
The cause of the outage is under investigation and is estimated to be fixed by 3pm on Tuesday.
Powercor urges residents to keep clear of any fallen power lines and check in with neighbours, particularly those with special needs such as elderly and people with disabilities.
