Warrnambool Offshore and Light Game Fishing Club president Peter Goode said there was an opportunity for everyone to catch a prize-winning fish.
“It’s open for all categories and age groups,” Mr Goode said. “There is quite a few different fish species within each category.”
Fish can be caught in lakes and river, on the beach or offshore, between Peterborough and Yambuk. Weigh-ins will be held at the Warrnambool breakwater each night at 7pm.
Fish such as bream and perch can be entered with a measurement, if the fisher wants to catch and release. Photographs on a ‘brag mat’ are needed for proof.
All adult entries will go into a draw to win a boating package including a 4.1-metre Anglapro Core boat, 30-horsepower Suzuki motor, and an Easytow trailer.
“Kids can enter to win the boat, they just need to pay the adult entry fee,” Mr Goode said.
The final weigh-in and boat draw will be held on the Warrmabool Civic Green at 11am on Sunday January 13.
