The Monte Motorsport ace took the lead with three laps to run from American Cory Eliason, who held the advantage for the majority of the race despite a series of re-starts.
Eliason finished second with Mount Gambier’s Steve Lines in third. Lines’ result was enough to collect the $10,000 speedweek bonus.
McFadden jumped three spots after a second re-start and then picked off his opponents.
“To get a win on the last night is huge, I am pumped,” he said.
Lines said it was “a big relief” to win speedweek which was run over five rounds, starting Boxing Day.
“You need a bit of luck on your side and I think we had both sides of that this week,” he said.
South Australian Aidan Hall was forced out after just five laps and David Murcott, who now calls the south-west home, was the next to be eliminated, done with 21 to go.
South-west duo Peter Doukas (Mailors Flat) and Luke Walker (Timboon) retired with 19 laps remaining, as did Brooke Tatnell.
Another re-start was called with 17 laps on the board.
Warrnambool’s Corey McCullagh had his night end early when he was involved in a tangle with Murcott on the opening lap of the 15-lap B-Main.
“You’ve got to have bad nights to appreciate the good ones,” he said.
Mitch Wormall was also forced out of the race in that incident.
South Australian Glen Sutherland followed shortly afterwards, flipping on turn four with 11 laps to go.
Jock Goodyer, Peter Doukas, Domain Ramsay and Murcott advanced to the A-Main.
The Neville Pike Cup A-Main for junior sedans went to Mitch Glynn from Kasey Garlick and Darcy Micallef.
Geelong’s Holly Harris was an innocent party in a big rollover, forcing her out with eight laps to race.
