The monthly store cattle sale at the Western Victoria Livestock Exchange at Mortlake on Thursday has raised about $5000 for HeartKids.

Much of the money for HeartKids, which supports children affected by congential heart disease and their families, was raised through a silent auction of donated items.
The sale’s feature line of Moyne Falls cattle was in outstanding condition. Grown steers sold to a high of 306c/kg, topping at $1551.
Weaner steers sold to a top of 311c/kg, with the top price $1150, while open auction steers sold to a top of $1000, which was about $60 dearer than at last month’s store sale.
Older heifers were up on last month’s sale, selling to 285c/kg and a top price of $1350. Weaner heifers sold to 273c/kg and $1115.
Open auction heifers sold to a top of $705 and PTIC cows reached a high $1630.
The Feature F1 unjoined heifers topped at $1150.
