Last weekend, Nestles partnered with the Hamilton Rowing Club to host the annual Hamilton Nestles Regatta.
The event was held on Lake Hamilton, with 18 clubs from across Victoria competing.
Nestle Rowing Club member Maria Zerbe said the regatta was a huge success.
“We had 315 competitors, which was almost double from last year,” Zerbe said.
“We had a lot of support from Rowing Victoria, they made sure ours was the only regatta on that weekend so that helped attract so many competitors.”
Nestles Rowing Club members combined competing on the water with helping to carry out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The best results for the club from the weekend came from Emma Zerbe and Alexander Cox.
Zerbe won gold in the under 15 single scull while Cox claimed gold in the parascull.
The club’s Female D Coxed Four crew also claimed gold.
The boat used was the Val Bertrand, with Val Bertrand herself the cox of the team.
This Sunday, the club will be holding a come and try day at its Merri River home from 10am.
The day will also include a display of club memorabilia and will act as a Christmas celebration.
“We would love to see former members come along and share the day with us,” Zerbe said.
“It would also be great to have members of the public come along who want to see what we are all about.”
