The teenage all-rounder made his Grassmere Cricket Association A grade debut for Woolsthorpe in its 56-run loss to Hawkesdale.
His next ambition is to make the association’s team for Warrnambool Under 17 Country Week in January.
Hansford, 14, took 2-34 and made two runs in his top-grade debut for the Warriors.
“I am pretty happy with my first game,” he said.
“It’s pretty good, a step to get to higher and higher levels and improve my skills.”
The Brauer College student also plays for Moyne – a GCA composite team – in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association junior competition.
Hawkesdale’s Lachie Glare took 8-74 off 22 overs.
