SOUTH-WEST pair Tommy Jackson and Brody Couch have been unable to back up their stellar performances for Vic Country against Western Australia at the under 19 National Championships in Adelaide on Friday.
After starring with the ball to claim three wickets in Thursday’s match against Queensland, Couch finished with 0-40 off his seven overs in Country’s third loss.
The 18-year-old Nirranda export finished with one maiden and no extras in his spell to help limit WA to 4/264 after 50 overs.
Woodford’s Jackson, who came in to bat at first drop, was unable to continue his fine form in the middle after scoring 89 on Thursday.
The 17-year-old was caught out for a quickfire 13, which involved two boundaries from his seven deliveries faced.
The Geelong Cricket Club players and their Vic Country teammates return to action against hosts South Australia on Sunday in their final pool game of the tournament.
