TRAP For Fools needs to perform to his very best to win the $1 million Kingston Town Classic over 1800 metres at Ascot on Saturday, according to his trainer Jarrod McLean.

McLean, who trains more than 20 horses under his own name, is also Darren Weir’s Warrnambool satellite foreman.
Trap For Fools gave McLean his first group one success when the five-year-old won the $2 million Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on November 10.
“It’s a good field in the Kingston Town,” he said.
“Trap For Fools will have to run up to his best to win another group one. “I can’t fault how Trap For Fools is leading into the race but I think the locals in Arcadia Queen, Material Man and Galaxy Star are the measuring sticks and then ‘Weiry’ has High Snow and Iconoclasm. It looks a very tough race.”
Champion jockey Damien Oliver will ride Trap For Fools in the feature race on the nine-event card at Ascot. Oliver replaces versatile jockey John Allen. Allen has six rides at Pakenham including the favourite Kiwia in the $300,000 Pakenham Cup.
Swacadelic, trained by Warrnambool’s Aaron Purcell, runs in the Pakenham Cup while Ciaron Maher saddles up a two-pronged attack in Dal Harraild and Walls Of Fire in the 2500-metre race.
Warrnambool trainer Matthew Williams accepted with Our Bottino and Turnitaround at Pakenham. Fellow trainer Simon Ryan has Grandview Avenue and Tarquin running at the meeting which carries metropolitan status as there are no races in Melbourne on Saturday.
