A 17-year-old Colac youth, who is well known to police, has been charged with breaking into a house, stealing keys and then a car.

He then drove 20 kilometres north of Colac to Beeac where he is alleged to have broken into a milkbar and stole cigarettes and confectionary valued at about $2500.
The youth was arrested, interviewed, charged with the offending on November 6 and then bailed to appear in a court on January 7.
