The theatre’s acting service managers Xavier Dannock and Amanda Kenneally took to the stage to announce the 17 performances that will enliven the 2019 theatre season.
Apart from welcoming back performance icons such as the MSO, Ensemble Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company and Bell Shakespeare, the Lighthouse will also offer new and edgy performances from The Last Great Hunt, One Fell Swoop Circus and Lemony S Puppet Theatre.
“We are very excited about the range of shows we have on offer in 2019 and we are very proud to offer such a wide variety of performances for our community,” Mr Dannock said.
The performances in the 2019 season have been chosen to engage with a wide range of audiences and provide experiences spanning the entire spectrum of entertainment.
The launch night gave people the opportunity to hear about the new season as well as enjoy Damian Callinan’s hit show The Wine Bluffs.
It was the first time the season launch was held in such a format and Mr Dannock said the evening was a great success.
“We are very pleased that so many people came to the launch and were able to enjoy Damian at his best,” he said.
Also announced on the night was the new option for theatre patrons to take drinks into the theatre, allowing them to have a glass of wine while enjoying the performances.
