Sing: Dennington will host the Carols on the Merri on Friday night with caroling for an array of community groups and schools, food stalls, coffee and Santa spreading festive cheer from 6pm. The event will be held on the hill at GG Payne Reserve on the Esplanade with funds from a gold coin entry donation going to the city’s Standing Tall program.

Youth: Warrnambool’s Brophy Family and Youth Services on Timor Street are hosting a Singer Songwriter workshop with Killarney musician Nancie Schipper from 4.30pm. The two-hour session is aimed at young people aged 12 to 25.
Run: Mortlake P12 College are hosting a Rainbow Obstacle Run on the school grounds from 5.30pm. The 1.5km run with water, coloured dust and obstacles will be precluded with entertainment, Christmas market stalls and food from 3.30pm.
Art: Two new exhibitions will be officially launched at the Warrnambool Art Gallery on Friday. Sans Frontieres by Damon Kowarsky and Adaptation and Monument by Tricia Page will be welcomed by the public at a gathering in the foyer from 5pm to 7pm.
Gigs: 15 Minutes of Fame, Variety Fundraising Concert-Christmas Special, St Brigid’s Hall Crossley, 7.30pm. Willnko, The Last Coach, 8-11pm. Vaudeville Smash with Flynn Gurry at the Loft from 8pm to late.
Dance: Melissa Dance Elements Studio are presenting ‘Toy Shop’ at the Lighthouse Theatre on Friday night from 7.30pm and Saturday at 2pm. The two and a half hour preformance is the group’s end of year showcase.
Kids: Merrivale Primary School are hosting a Kids Dance Workshop from 3pm on Friday.
Little Liebig Laneway Festival: Relax into the weekend at a brand new festival right in the city centre. The Little Liebig Laneway festival kicks off on Friday night from 5pm. It includes live music, street food and a DJ will play later in the night. A collaboration between The Whalers, Bojangles, The Hairy Goat and Fishtales will see the rear laneway at the back of the restaurants transformed into a funky festival area with two bars.
SATURDAY
Surfing: The Disabled Surfers Association are hosting a group surfing experience on Sunday. Volunteers are asked to register at 8.30am at Warrnambool’s main beach, while surfers can come between 9.30am and noon. It is free for participants and volunteers, with a free sausage sizzle to follow.
Ride: The annual Warrnambool Motorcycle Toy Run is on this Saturday. Toys for children aged six to 16 will be ridden on the back of an array of bikes from Warrnambool’s Rafferty’s Tavern at 1pm, through Port Fairy, Koroit, Grassmere, Bushfield and into Lake Pertobe for a 2.30pm barbecue. The donations will be handed over to the Salvation Army following the event.
Books: The Warrnambool Library is hosting Family Story Saturday Time for children aged three to six from 1pm. Library staff will read books to the gathered children encouraging a love a reading.
Port Fairy: The Port Fairy Community Market is on at Railway Place from 9am to 1pm.
Row: Learn to row for fitness, social or competitive. Meet at the City of Warrnambool Rowing Club on Simpson Street for a row along the Hopkins River from 8.30am.

SUNDAY
Markets: Christmas shoppers can find an eclectic mix of locally made, grown and produced goods at Warrnambool’s Summer markets on Sunday. Live music, foods, art and craft, coffee and everything in between will fill the Civic Green on Timor Street from 9am to 1pm.
Fresh: For fresh produce, goods, food, plants and coffee the Fresh Market is on at Lake Pertobe from 9am to 1pm.
Artists: The F Project is presenting this year’s annual Fletcher Jones Garden Party and Christmas Artists Market on Sunday. The gardens at the iconic Warrnambool site will be filled with art stalls, live music, food vans, children’s activities, a singing robot and an artist ‘paint-off’ between 9am and 2pm.
Movies: The Warrnambool Calisthenics Club is hosting a movie fundraiser at the Capitol Cinema, screening The Grinch from 1pm.
Gigs: Louie and The Melways, Hotel Warrnambool, 3pm. Ben Cross, Warrnambool Bowls Club, 4-7pm. Thought Club at the Loft from 4pm to 6pm, a community for reading and thinking, talking and listening about the ideas.
Garden bar: Matchbox Espresso Bar are holding their second Sunday session this week with cocktails, beers, ciders and mocktails in the gardens at Fletcher Jones from 3pm.
WEDNESDAY
Produce: The Warrnambool Community Garden will host its weekly garden market selling fresh produce but this week it will add a Christmas twist. Between 2pm and 6pm the Grafton Road site will come to life with live music from Bruce Campbell.

Art: The Warrnambool Art Gallery is hosting its Friends of WAG Morning Tea from 10am.
