The south-west export, who plays for Victorian Premier League club Geelong, took two wickets for Vic Country in its opening game defeat against ACT/NSW Country.
From 10 overs the 18-year-old finished with 2-57 as their country counterparts cruised to a four-wicket victory with 1.5 overs remaining.
Couch’s Cats teammate, Woodford’s Tommy Jackson helped get Vic Country off to a steady start in the first innings.
Jackson, 17, who was opening the batting for the Vics, scored 11 runs off 22 balls before clipping one behind to the keeper to end his innings.
The pair is back in action on Tuesday from 10am against Northern Territory, which was also defeated on day one of the tournament by New South Wales Metro.
